I descend from the O’Carroll family and the story’s you tell for what I have been told by my family are true. The brothers you speak of names are Mulroony who was the priest and his warrior Brother is Teage.
From what I understand that happened is Mulroony did not believe in the life style of Teage and after a argument Teage came into the chapel stabbing his brother during mass as he was reading the Holy Rites.

You kept a fish out of water for more than a second or two? No wonder he wasn’t doing so well, the damage is usually irreversible after even a short period of time. Part of the trick is to only do partial water changes-only about half the water at most and even with bettas you can’t just use water from the tap without letting it sit at least overnight to evaporate the chemicals that would harm the fish. Unless there is something massively wrong or you’re just transferring a fish to a new-and permenant-tank you should not handle fish even with a net.

Our fish used to do the same thing just about every time we cleaned his bowl.

One year when I was teaching 4yo’s in Vacation Bible School, I asked for a goldfish and a bowl for a visual aid. Just as I started the story, the stinkin’ fish jumped completely out of the bowl and landed on the table! The trick was for this scared-to-touch-fish girl trying to get the fish back in the bowl without freaking out in front of the kids. Ahhh, memories.

Hubby watched the sci fi show, he also likes that show on Discovery “Haunting”…I think is what it is called….me I am a big scardy cat.

Our neighbor called yesterday and she killed our fish (she killed one before why we were away), I told her I thought he was not doing too good and he has lived for 3 years that is a long time for a beta I thought. She ran to the store and bought another one just like it so the kids didnt think she was a fish killer.
